Season 4
Hurricane and its Impact on the Verdant Delta
Four years ago, during the events of Season 2, a hurricane hit the Verdant Delta, prompting many to flee the area. This included the local elf archer Ry, who escaped to Spawn City and briefly joined the rebellion against Clark (as mentioned in the Season 2 paragraph). The hurricane completely destroyed Mangrove Town, a small village in the middle of a swamp. The survivors were forced to relocate to a riverside area on the edge of the swamp. On the other side of the river, Azalea Town was also damaged by the hurricane, but not completely destroyed. However, a family of witches was killed by the hurricane, leaving Witch Turtle to bury her own parents and siblings.
Rocket and the Hurricane
Meanwhile, Rocket, a harbormaster in a nearby harbor, was sailing down a river when the hurricane hit. This blocked her path and trapped her in Olson Lake (named after the Giant Olm that lives in it), right next to where the Mangrove Town survivors intended to rebuild. In the center of old Mangrove Town (the one that was completely destroyed) was a crystal, one of the remains of Creative Eel's crystal. These crystals are where all of the Eel reincarnations spawn from. Season 2's Eel spawned from a crystal in the mesa, and Season 4's Farmer Eel spawned from the one in old Mangrove Town. However, because the hurricane destroyed the crystal, he spawned prematurely and with severe brain damage, severing his connection to his previous lives.
Rebuilding Mangrove Town and New Conflicts
Arrowl, Eel, and Rocket slowly helped rebuild Mangrove Town. Eventually, Arrowl and Eel got married and built a farm together. From the point of view of the Azaleans, a new town of people appeared on the other side of the river after the hurricane, and from the perspective of the Mangrovians, they discovered a whole town outside the mangrove they didn't know existed. This caused a lot of conflict between the two towns, who both worshiped different types of trees.
FUCKING TIME TRAVEL
Elliot would also invent, or rather discover, his ability to time travel from the best base in Chained Fates history, The Shit Shack, and travel to Season 3. His goal in creating it was to try and save his parents, who were killed in a shooting in Mangrove Town. The reason for traveling to the future was the risk of paradoxes; however, in Season 5, time travel paradoxes were debunked with the Novikov self-consistency principle being canon. The Novikov self-consistency principle suggests that time travel cannot change the past because any actions taken by the time traveler were always part of history, making the timeline fixed and self-consistent.
