Founding and Early Prosperity

Groovystan, as it's known today, was founded long ago by the Groovystanai people of Spawn City who sought to establish their own village based on their beliefs. Officially founded in the year 69 AL under the name Groovy Village, it was situated above the largest oil reserve in the world, accounting for 69% of the global supply. This vast abundance of energy quickly made Groovy Village the most technologically advanced civilization in the world. It expanded to the city-state of Groovy City and later became a nation under the name Groovystan.

Decline and Search for New Energy

By the year 4200 AL, it became clear that the oil reserves were running dry, not just for Groovystan but for the entire world. Various experiments were conducted in an effort to find a viable replacement. Fortunately, a replacement was found in the form of relic energy in a laboratory atop a nearby mountain. However, it was not enough to prevent the nation's decline, and within 100 years, Groovystan had dwindled to a small city-state by the ocean. Despite this decline, Groovystan foolishly continued to build infrastructure projects, a large stage for speeches, and embassies of other nations in its three-city territory. This was done to give the illusion of success, fooling even their relic holder, but not for long.

Project Sexxon and the Founding of Neo-Groovy

Shortly after their relic holder returned to Groovystan after medical treatment, a large blackout occurred, leading to the creation of Project Sexxon to improve the extraction of relic energy. The project was a massive success. This new energy was far more powerful than oil, and Groovystan invested heavily in research and development, enhancing comfort and innovation for its people more than ever before. The old city center was redeveloped and named Retro Groovy, while part of the neighboring jungle was torn down to create Neo-Groovy, the global center for commerce. However, driven by an insatiable pursuit of progress, Groovystan's energy requirements grew, leading to imperialist ambitions. In their quest for power, Groovystan destroyed Vibetopia in a failed attempt to obtain their relic.

Continued Ambitions and Research

Failing to obtain the relic, Groovystan shifted its research and development efforts toward improving the efficiency of existing technology. The modest gains were sufficient, but with a growing population, a desire for overseas colonies, and a persistent drive for progress, it was clear that more relics must be obtained by any means necessary.
